Objectives:

To provide basic understanding of the principle of diagnostic ultrasound

To know about the normal ultrasound appearance of various tissues relevant to musculoskeletal MSK

To know the applications of USG in the clinical management of MSK medicine and its limitations

To acquire hands-on experience in the operation of ultrasound machine

To learn about basic positioning of patients and acquire standardized scan for various joint regions

Registration Required:

After being selected by the Committee, you will be requested to register for the workshop.

The Early Bird Registration fee (Before September 1st) is USD 475 for the 2 days.  After September 1st, the Late Registration fee of USD 950 will be applied.

Please note that this course has a 40 person registration minimum and is limited to 75 registrants.

Applicants will be considered on a first come first serve basis. Up to 10 candidates will be shortlisted in the event of cancellations.

Applicants shall be evaluated by the Organizing Committee. The decision of the Organizing Committee shall be final with respect to selection of candidates for the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  1. Abstracts must be written exclusively in English.
  2. There are 2 modes of presentation: Oral and Poster presentation. The Scientific Committee will identify which abstracts will be selected for oral presentation and which abstracts will be presented as posters.
  3. Abstract must be limited to 250 words and must be concise and clear, highlighting the most relevant aspects, findings and conclusions. The word limit for the abstract title is 20.
  4. Use only standard abbreviations. Special or unusual abbreviations are not recommended. If otherwise necessary, the latter should be placed in parenthesis after the first appearance of the full word, except for unit symbols. Numeral rather than words may be used to indicate numbers.
  5. Section breaks are not mandatory.
  6. References are not required for abstract submission.
  7. Inclusion in the Congress proceedings is dependent on payment of registration fees.
  8. The abstract must contain original research material, not be published or presented at any other international congress prior to APLAR 2017. The submitted abstracts will remain property of APLAR 2017 Congress. the Scientific Committee reserves the right to publish and distribute.

Instructions for Poster Presenters

Instructions for Poster Presentations

All poster presentations will be scheduled in one of 5 poster sessions.

Your poster should be mounted by the start of your poster session and removed promptly at the end of your poster session time. We appreciate your cooperation in removing your poster on time and adhering to this schedule.

Participants should be present at their designated poster board(s) during session breaks during their scheduled poster session to answer any questions.

The Organizing Committee will not be responsible for posters that are not removed by the end of their assigned poster session.

Please note that the poster program will be available online only and will not be included in the printed program booklet you will receive on-site. Therefore you are requested to familiarize yourself with the poster board number and poster session time assigned to you.

Please note the following information for the preparation of your poster:

  • The dimensions of the poster should not exceed 90cm. wide x 120cm. high.

  • Please prepare your poster to fit the dimensions specified. It is recommended that posters be prepared on one sheet. Alternatively, presenters may display their material on several smaller sheets.
  • Allocate the top of the poster for the title and authors as stated on the submitted abstract.
  • The text, illustrations, etc. should be large enough to be read from a distance of two meters.
  • DO NOT write or paint on the poster boards.
  • DO NOT use nails, push pins, screws, or any tools that will puncture the poster boards.
  • Please refer to the Final Programme book that you will receive upon arrival at the Congress for the poster board number assigned to you.
  • Please use the board that displays the same number assigned to you.

·         If using a PowerPoint presentation, please bring it with you on a USB Memory stick. Further instructions for uploading your presentation slides will be made available on site.

·         Assemble in your session room at least 10 minutes before the beginning of the session.

·         Ensure that you sit near the front of the room with easy access to the stage.

·         Ensure that you keep to the time allocated to you, as it will cause disruption to sessions if you run over your allotted time.

 

Please make sure that you check the Online Program during the Congress for any updates to your session day, time and hall.
